About
My name is Allison Cahill. I’m a clinical registered Individuals, Couples, Family and Relationship Psychotherapist and Counsellor.
I believe
I strongly believe in integrity and authenticity. Like you, I have experienced the highs and lows of life and endured my own adversities. Equally, I have also benefited from wonderful adventures and learned what it is to love and to be loved.
I support
My goal as your therapist is to support, empower and hold a safe space for you to better understand your history, regulate your emotional patterns, improve and build on new coping skills and overall well-being.
I understand
My speciality is to bring understanding, calm and perspective to busy, and sometimes conflicted lives, and I welcome all members of our community.
Through my work as a therapist and my own life experience, I know that life can be hard, relationships are hard and sometimes we just struggle.
We can sometimes lose sight of the fact that we matter, know that we’re good enough and battle to maintain a connection with our partner or loved ones.
Over time, our ability to connect and enjoy an intimate relationship with our partner or loved ones can change, fall into a rut or feel diminished.
Together we’ll explore past and present experiences, cultivating the foundation for a healthy future that represents the changes you would like to see in your life.
Seeking counselling can be an emotional journey, I will therefore welcome you into the process at your own pace in a non-judgemental and compassionate way.
Counselling is a collaborative experience, requiring your vulnerability and openness to seek change. By guiding you through to awareness, I can help change or improve your situation in how you feel about life and your different relationships.
So, for you to benefit most you’ll need to be open and transparent in your communication, willing to work hard through the counselling process with me. There may be moments that arise that are challenging, but the rewards gained beyond are great.
Therapy is not a one size fits all, so I apply different tools for everybody that are individually unique.
